BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO ONENOTE

OneNote is your digital notebook. A place where you can jot down random thoughts or systematically keep track of your notes. Or perhaps both?

PEDAGOGICAL ADVANTAGES

OneNote can be used privately or shared with others. This means you can have your own private notebook, a notebook with your collaborators, and a notebook shared with your students. OneNote is also a useful technology for portfolio work. Whether you have a private portfolio or need a tool to work with students’ portfolios, OneNote is a good place to start.

OneNote is an effective tool for creating learning portfolios with your students. By using OneNote’s “Class Notebook” function, each student only has access to their own portfolio and the shared pages you choose to create, while you as a lecturer have access to all students’ notebooks. This can be advantageous if you need insight into their learning processes and problem-solving.

OneNote can also be used in group collaboration, where a notebook can serve as the primary tool for managing the project process. Students can take shared notes during lectures, write minutes at group meetings, or share relevant PDF material.

Furthermore, OneNote can be used as a regular (digital) notebook for your personal notes. You can use OneNote on most devices, making it an agile tool that helps you capture ideas the moment they strike and document them. Afterwards, you can archive your notes in a filing system of your own design, and you can share your notebooks with others if relevant.

OneNote is a flexible programme and can be used in many different ways, the only limits are your imagination and technical ability.

Please note that OneNote may look different depending on the version you use. However, the functions and advantages remain the same, and this does not affect the content you put into your notebook – it is the same regardless of the version you use.
