The PBL Teacher of the Future

For each power-up course, an interactive AAU Micro is developed - a short course that takes you on an engaging learning journey, which you can complete independently, online, and at times that suit your schedule. Each AAU Micro is divided into topics, allowing you to complete the ones you have time for or are particularly interested in, based on cases and examples from AAU.

If you, as a teacher, have the time and opportunity, you can carry out a PracticeLab within your own teaching practice. CDUL offers an intensive, structured PracticeLab consisting of four phases, totaling 10 hours. Each PracticeLab is structured in collaboration with you and is based on an IT-related pedagogical/didactic challenge. A PracticeLab consists of four phases:

• Phase 1: Identification of an IT-related pedagogical/didactic challenge
• Phase 2: Experimentation and design of a possible solution
• Phase 3: Testing, observation, and feedback
• Phase 4: Evaluation and adjustments

You are also invited to join a new workshop format called PBL Playgrounds. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, develop, and explore your own teaching practice together with colleagues. Each power-up course includes its own PBL Playground, where you participate alongside colleagues from across faculties and study programs. In these sessions, we dive into relevant IT-related pedagogical/didactic challenges, working with practical examples, peer supervision, and visions for the future.

Digital learning consultants from CDUL will facilitate the PBL Playgrounds, each of which can accommodate up to 35 lecturers. The PBL Playgrounds will be offered in autumn 2025 on the following dates:

• Week 44 – PBL Playground – Digital Learning Environments: October 29, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with digital learning environments in a PBL context. We’ll explore how digital learning spaces can enhance and challenge your teaching, and how you can concretely integrate them into your practice. The day includes hands-on activities based on real-world challenges, as well as peer feedback and support from CDUL.

• Week 45 – PBL Playground – Principles of Digitally Supported PBL: November 6, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (please notice new date!)

Explore AAU’s principles for digitally supported PBL and how they can be applied to develop your teaching in practice. We’ll work hands-on with the four principles: Variation, Collaboration and Openness, Co-determination and Empowerment, and Inclusion and examine how these principles for example can help engage and involve students.

• Week 46 – PBL Playground – Digital Agency: November 12, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Take time to reflect on your role as a teacher in a changing world. We’ll delve into resilience and explore how you can navigate the teacher role shaped by factors such as pandemics, AI, and reforms - and how you can strengthen your position in the future when your teaching is challenged.
