Office 365

Office 365

BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO OFFICE 365
Office 365 is a collection of apps, each of which can be used in different ways in teaching. Office 365 includes familiar tools such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel, but also newer apps – among them Forms, OneNote and Teams. The various apps can be used for everything from real-time collaborative writing to project work and peer feedback, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and holding, for example, supervision meetings where students or supervisors come from afar.
PEDAGOGICAL ADVANTAGES
Office 365 provides apps for production and collaboration, enabling both lecturers and students to interact simultaneously. Consequently, there are many possibilities for how Office 365 can be used in teaching contexts. As a lecturer, you can, for instance, use OneNote before teaching to prepare a shared notebook in which students continuously note questions and reflections related to the teaching and syllabus. These questions and reflections can advantageously be used when planning your teaching, allowing you to address what challenges the students. Another example is Forms, which is also part of Office 365 and can be used during teaching. Forms can provide variation in teaching, for example by including small polls or questions for students to complete. In this way, Forms can help create interaction and dialogue between lecturers and students.
