Whiteboard

Whiteboard

BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO WHITEBOARD
Whiteboard is a visual and digital tool that can be used by both lecturers and students for collaborative tasks or activities. The tool functions as an online noticeboard and can be applied broadly – ranging from supporting creative study activities such as brainstorming and discussion, to more structured activities such as quizzes and problem-solving.
PEDAGOGICAL ADVANTAGES
Whiteboard is a collaborative tool where both lecturers and students can interact simultaneously. Consequently, there are many possibilities for how Whiteboard can be used in teaching contexts. Before teaching, you can use Whiteboard to gain insight into students’ understanding of the subject matter, and these reflections can be used to tailor your teaching to students’ needs. Whiteboard can also be used during teaching, helping to engage students in the learning process.
You may be familiar with the challenge of keeping track of what students discuss in groups. Here, Whiteboard can be used as a dialogue tool, enabling students to share the outcomes of their group discussions. Whiteboard can also be used to evaluate teaching and further provides the opportunity for students to ask the lecturer questions after teaching. In this way, Whiteboard can extend the dialogue between students and lecturers.
